Complaint Summary

SEAT BELTS

Owner Narrative

I HAVE A 2007 FORD F350 TRUCK W/ THE SUPERCAB CONFIGURATION. WE TOOK DELIVERY IN OCTOBER 2007. WE HAVE A GRANDCHILD THAT SITS IN A CAR SEAT AND HAS TO BE LOCATED IN THE REAR SEAT. THE TRUCK DOES NOT HAVE THE LATCH SYSTEM FOR SECURING THE CAR SEAT SO WE NEED TO USE THE LAP/SHOULDER BELT. MY PARTICULAR TRUCK HAS THE AUTOMATIC LOCKING MODE ON THE TWO OUTBOARD BELTS BUT NOT THE MIDDLE BELT. I FELL THIS IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION BECAUSE THE MIDDLE POSITION GIVES THE CHILD PROTECTION FROM SIDE IMPACTS AND ALSO ALLOWS THE PASSENGER EASIER ACCESS TO THE CHILD. *TR
