By accessing or using TruckCodex ("truckcodex.com," "the Site," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). TruckCodex is a public reference platform that aggregates and presents commercial motor vehicle data from publicly available United States government databases. The Site provides access to carrier safety records, inspection histories, violation codes, crash data, recall notices, complaints, diagnostic codes, fuel data, and related trucking information sourced from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), Transport Canada, and other public sources.

3. Data Sources and Accuracy

All data presented on TruckCodex is sourced from publicly available government databases and is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we strive to keep data current and accurate, we make no representations or warranties regarding:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed
  • The reliability of data sourced from third-party government systems
  • Whether data reflects the most recent updates from source agencies
  • The suitability of data for any particular purpose

TruckCodex is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the FMCSA, NHTSA, U.S. Department of Transportation, EIA, or any other government agency. Users should verify all information with the relevant government agency before making decisions based on data found on this Site.

4. Permitted Use

You may use TruckCodex for lawful purposes, including personal reference, research, and commercial due diligence, subject to these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any manner that violates applicable federal, state, local, or international laws or regulations
  • Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access the Site at a rate that degrades performance for other users

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the data displayed is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUCKCODEX, ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Site (which, for free access, is zero dollars).

The Site's design, layout, code, user interface, original content, and branding are the property of TruckCodex and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The underlying government data is public domain. Our organization, presentation, and analysis of that data is proprietary.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including government agency sites. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party website.

10. Privacy
