Owner Narrative

The contact owned a 2021 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power and was unable to accelerate as needed. The contact was able to reach to drive to the residence, where the failure persisted. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP). The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact attributed it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel). The VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact had since sold the vehicle. The failure mileage was 280,000.
