The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated that the vehicle had been misfiring. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with failed programmable module installation (PMI) that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the PMI had experienced the failure for a second time. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
