Owner Narrative
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD E-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITION TO SLOW IT DOWN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE DID NOT HAVE THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED OR A MAT ON THE FLOORBOARD. THE FAILURE HAD RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PERSONAL MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS, HOWEVER NO FAILURE COULD BE FOUND. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE BOTH NOTIFIED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 121,000.
