TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE RAM 1500. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE OUTER TIE ROD ENDS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY DID NOT INCLUDED GREASE FITTINGS, WHICH CAUSED EXCESSIVE WEAR. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V657000 (STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
