TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-350 PICK UP. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 60 MPH WHEN THE FUEL STRAPS DETACHED FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER WHERE THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT BOTH FUEL TANK STRAPS WERE RUSTED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY CONFIRMED THE VIN DID NOT QUALIFY FOR RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 99V311000 ( FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
