TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE TURNING RIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY STIFF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD EASILY STEER TO THE LEFT BUT STEERING TO THE RIGHT WAS VERY DIFFICULT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 98V242000: STEERING: GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 150,000.
