Complaint Summary

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Owner Narrative

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FOREST RIVER WINDSONG WITH A 2002 WORKHORSE W22 CHASSIS. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE VIBRATED CONSTANTLY. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED AN ODOROUS SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH. HE POURED WATER ON THE BRAKE CALIPERS TO COOL THEM DOWN IN ORDER TO RETURN TO HIS RESIDENCE. HE STATED THAT THE BRAKES SEEMED TO HAVE LOCKED UP, WHICH CAUSED THE VIBRATION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN INTERIM NOTICE THAT ALERTED HIM TO A POSSIBLE DEFECT WITH THE BRAKES. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 7,210. UPDATED 06/24/09. *LJ UPDATED 06/26/09.*JB
