Owner Narrative
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HUMMER H2. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIPERS ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V456000 (VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR). AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE WORSENED AND THE WIPERS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THE CONTACT RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY $600 TO HAVE THE WIPERS REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED HIM A $500 COUPON TOWARD HIS NEXT PURCHASE FROM THEM, BUT DID NOT ASSIST WITH THE WIPER FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
