TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD BUMPING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF CALLING THE MANUFACTURER IN REFERENCE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V018000 (STEERING:GEAR BOX:SHAFT SECTOR). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,400.
