2004 FORD E-350 • FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY • incident Nov 2, 2007
Complaint Summary
FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
Owner Narrative
VEHICLE LOST POWER 3 DIFFERENT TIMES, ONCE ON INTERSTATE, TWICE IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, AND IN ONE CASE THE ENGINE DIED. TURNS OUT CAUSE WAS FAILURE OF TANK LINING CLOGGING UP THE FUEL SYSTEM. EACH OF THE 3 TIMES I REPLACE FUEL FILTERS BEFORE FINALLY CLEANING OUT THE TANK AND DETERMINING ACTUAL PROBLEM. FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TANK LINING, AS SHOWN ON FORD TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS 19728, BUT HAS DONE AND WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM EXCEPT TELL ME TO REPLACE MY TANK AT ALMOST $600 + LABOR. *TR
