Complaint Summary

TIRES

Owner Narrative

CONSUMER STATES THAT HIS CAMPER VAN CONVERSION HAS NOT HAD A SMOOTH RIDE DUE TO TIRES. THE TIRE MAKE AN OSCILLATING NOISE WHICH MAKES THE CONSUMER THINK THE TREAD IS ABOUT TO SEPARATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A FOR DEALER BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO BE BALANCED. IN THE OPINION OF THE TECHNICIAN THE TIRES WERE TOO FAR OUT OF TOLERANCE. ONE OF THE TIRES COULD NOT BE BALANCED THEREFORE GOODYEAR REPLACED IT. THE CONSUMER READ SEVERAL ARTICLE ABOUT AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN NHTSA AND GOODYEAR TO REPLACE 200000 TIRES ON 15 PASSENGER VANS EQUIPPED WITH LIGHT TRUCK LOAD RANGE E TIRES FOR MODEL YEARS 1996 TO 2000. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE CAMPER CONVERSION SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE REPLACEMENT. *NM
