The contact owns a 1999 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the ABS erroneously engaged at low speeds, and the tailgate was ajar due to a fractured hinge. The contact received the recall notification letter of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 05V379000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and 06V066000 (Structure). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was unsure why the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 185,000.
