Owner Narrative
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact received a notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle would not come to a complete stop while depressing the brake pedal. No warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle to his residence, where upon further inspection, the right rear brake hose had begun to leak brake fluid. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that, prior to the failure, the left rear brake hose had ruptured and was replaced out of pocket. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,215.
