Owner Narrative

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger’s side A-pillar trim fractured. The contact stated that the A-Pillar trim was loosely swinging across the windshield. In addition, the contact stated that because of the failure and the unrepaired recall, the exterior air and moisture came into the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or a dealer. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V031000 (Structure); however, parts for the recall repair were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
