Owner Narrative
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while reversing, the back over prevention camera became inoperable. The contact stated that the image was distorted. The message Pre-Collison assist not available was displayed and then disappeared. The contact stated that the camera was repaired under recall. The contact stated that the camera was turning gray and blue. The manufacturer was contacted and helped with the repair. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The modules were reset by an independent mechanic. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V887000 (Back Over Prevention). The camera was black with green lines, and it froze. There was a buzzing sound detected. The vehicle was restarted. While the mechanic was driving the vehicle, the vehicle crashed into a gate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again, and the contact was informed about a diagnostic test. There were no codes retrieved, and the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,600.
