Owner Narrative

I received a safety recall notice in October 2025 for my 2016 Ford Taurus SHO regarding a defect involving the rear backup camera system. As of today, there are still no parts available to correct this issue. I have contacted the manufacturer and authorized dealers multiple times and have been informed that there is currently no estimated timeline for when the required parts will be available. The rear backup camera is a critical safety feature intended to prevent collisions with pedestrians, objects, and other vehicles while reversing. Since receiving the recall notice, I have experienced multiple close calls while backing up, which I believe are directly related to this unresolved defect. This creates an ongoing safety concern for myself, pedestrians, and other drivers. Despite being notified of a safety-related defect, I have been left without a remedy for several months and must continue operating the vehicle out of necessity. I believe this delay is unreasonable and defeats the purpose of a safety recall.
