Owner Narrative
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the rearview camera was working periodically while reversing. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer, who confirmed there were no recalls associated with the VIN related to the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon further research, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention). The manufacturer was contacted, who filed a claim and referred the contact to the BBB, who referred her to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
