Owner Narrative
The contact owned a 2014 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving and pulling a trailer, the fuel line detached. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a truck stop. A mobile mechanic determined that the fuel line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. While driving at 75 MPH, the fuel line busted again and was repaired again by the same mobile mechanic. While driving at 75 MPH, the driver noticed fire emerging from the floorboard. The driver sustained third-degree burn injuries to his leg, and medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The insurance deemed the vehicle a total loss. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 167,000. The VIN was not available.
