Owner Narrative
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction, and the message "Service Steering" displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (STEERING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 53,000.
