Owner Narrative

The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V840000 (Steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at 20 MPH, an abnormal sound was coming from the front end of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the passenger’s side front suspension upper knuckle joint was cracked. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and confirmed that the passenger’s side front suspension upper knuckle joint was cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part not being available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle was at the dealer and had not been driven since the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,260.
