Owner Narrative
The fuel filter housing failed on the male end where the filter screws onto the housing (part # 117M/23699581). Part is available for inspection. Failure of the fuel filter housing failed during operation of the truck causing the engine to die while driving down the road causing a complete loss of engine power and fuel spill. Vehicle manufacturer have inspected multiple of the same failed components but has failed to accept responsibility for the components even when the vehicle is still under factory warranty. There were no warning lights or other messages before part failure. Driver did notice a fuel smell just a few seconds before complete failure.
