Owner Narrative

The contact owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and shifted out of gear independently. The contact stated that the vehicle rolled into a parking lot and a tow truck was called. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 19N01 (Vehicles Equipped with A 6R80 Transmission 6R80 Sudden Transmission Downshift); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 74,977.
