Owner Narrative
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light remained illuminated and there was black exhaust smoke coming from the exhaust pipes. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle had experienced excessive oil consumption. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
