Owner Narrative
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Elantra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V146000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the dealer would not perform the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact called the manufacturer and was referred to the dealer. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the trunk independently opened. The contact pulled over and was able to close the trunk. The contact related the failure to the NHTSA Campaign. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
