The contact owned a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while her son was driving at 30 MPH, another vehicle crashed into the driver's side of her vehicle; however, no air bags were deployed. The contact's son was injured but did not receive medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 172,000. The VIN was unavailable.
