TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SWITCHING THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER TO THE REVERSE POSITION, THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY DROVE FORWARD OVER A CURB, HIT SEVERAL TREES, AND A PARKING POLE. DURING THE CRASH THE VEHICLE DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
