Complaint Summary
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Owner Narrative
AUTOCAR XPEDITOR HAS ISSUES WITH "DEAD PEDAL." MEANING THAT WHEN THE GAS IS PRESSED AND THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THE FUEL DELIVERY STOPS AND THE MOTOR STALLS, SOMETIMES CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SHUT OFF BUT NOT ALWAYS. THE DEAD PEDAL ALWAYS CAUSES THE TRUCK TO ROLL BACKWARDS UNEXPECTEDLY. WASTE MANAGEMENT SEATTLE OPERATES DOZENS OF THESE TRUCKS AND DESPITE SEVERAL DRIVER COMPLAINTS HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS OR CORRECT THE ISSUE IN ANY WAY. THE FLEET OF AFFECTED TRUCKS OPERATES PRIMARILY ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS WITH HIGHWAY DRIVING TO GET TO ROUTE OR THE DUMP. THE DEAD PEDAL ISSUE HAPPENS TYPICALLY FROM THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE TRUCK WHILE THE DRIVER IS STANDING AND DRIVING.*DT*JB
