TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE WASHING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED SEVERE RUST ON THE INSIDE OF THE CABIN CORNERS ALL THE WAY TO THE OUTER SURFACE ON BOTH CORNERS OF THE CABIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT BODY SHOP AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON FAILURE WITH THESE VEHICLES. DUE TO HOW THE VEHICLES WERE DESIGNED, WATER WOULD ACCUMULATE ON THE CORNERS OF THE CABIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
