Complaint Summary

FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL

Owner Narrative

01/2016: VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN HOME FROM WORK WHEN THERE WAS A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO ROLL TO A STOP IN THE PARKING LOT OF A CHURCH. LATER IT WAS DETERMINED THIS RESULTED FROM FAILURE OF #7 CYLINDER INJECTOR UNIT, BELIEVED TO HAVE FAILED DUE TO DELAMINATION INSIDE OF FUEL TANK. ABOUT 02/23/2014, 207980 MILES: FUEL TANK HAD BEEN REMOVED AND INTERNAL SCREENS CLEARED DUE TO THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING PRIOR TO INJECTOR FAILURE. INTERNAL PICK-UP TUBE SCREENS WERE BLOCKED WITH DELAMINATION MATERIAL FROM THE INSIDE OF THE TANK. TWO NEW FUEL PUMPS HAD BEEN PURCHASED AND INSTALLED PRIOR TO CLEANING THE INTERNAL PICK-UP SCREENS. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR WORK AND PARTS RELATING TO THE FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. *TR
