TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CAUSING THE SPEED TO INCREASE TO APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH BEFORE DECREASING TO 40 MPH. THE CONTACT INDICATED THE SPEED WOULD NOT EXCEED OVER 40 MPH AND THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
