TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 3500. WITHOUT WARNING, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE FRACTURED WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL WOBBLED EXCESSIVELY AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNSTABLE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL ARMS AND DRIVER SIDE TIE ROD FRACTURED. THE MECHANIC INDICATED THAT BOTH TIE RODS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 13V528000 (STEERING), 11V350000 (STEERING), 10E013000 (STEERING), AND 07E009000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
