Complaint Summary

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Owner Narrative

ON MAY 13, 2014, A RECALL LETTER WAS RECEIVED FROM FORD. REF. NO. 09S09-SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION FIRE. I CALLED SONORA FORD TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR THE RISK. ACCORDING TO [XXX] IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. HE TOOK MY CONTACT INFORMATION AND ADVISED HE WOULD CONTACT ME IN ABOUT A WEEK WHEN PARTS ARRIVED. AFTER NO RETURNED CALL I CONTACTED BOTH SONORA FORD AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTER AT 1-866-436-7332 & 1-800-392-3673. THEY ADVISED PARTS WERE STILL 7 TO 10 DAYS OUT. FORD REFUSED TO HAVE THE SWITCH REMOVED OR THE CIRCUIT DISCONNECTED TO PREVENT A FIRE UNTIL PARTS ARRIVED WHEN ASKED. WITH A KNOWN FIRE RISK I AM CONCERNED MORE COULD BE DONE BY FORD TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WHILE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
