Complaint Summary

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Owner Narrative

ON FEBRUARY 18, 2014, AT APPROXIMATELY 10 AM, I WAS MOVING OUR 1995 FORD F-350 TO PARK IT AT A FRIENDS HOUSE, THE TRUCK STARTED LOSING POWER, I SMELLED AN ELECTRICAL SMELL & SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD, I JUMPED OUT OF THE TRUCK & OPENED THE HOOD & THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS IN FLAMES, I IMMEDIATELY DIALED 911 & CONNECTED TO OUR LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT, THEY ARRIVED WITHIN MINUTES BUT THE FRONT HALF OF THE TRUCK WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED, I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE RECALL ON THESE TRUCKS UNTIL A MECHANIC FRIEND HEARD ABOUT MY TRUCK CATCHING FIRE & TOLD ME ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THEM. *TR
