TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DAKOTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, A LOUD GRINDING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE REAR AXLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN TIGHTENED THE LOOSE REAR AXLE PINION NUT. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V038000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR REMAINED UNAVAILABLE AND A TEMPORARY REMEDY WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN EXPECTED DATE FOR THE REMEDY PART TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
