Chameleon carrier check
Heuristic shared-address / phone / name clusters — starting point for due diligence, not a verdict.
This is a heuristic detection, not a regulatory finding. Many legitimate businesses share addresses (corporate parks, virtual mailbox services, family-run multi-entity operations). Use this as a starting point for your own due diligence, not a verdict. TruckCodex is not affiliated with FMCSA and these clusters are not official enforcement findings.
MARCHUK TRUCKING LLC
No published chameleon cluster for this USDOT (score < 3 or no heuristic match).
That is not a verified clean record — most carriers never appear in a cluster. Continue normal broker vetting (authority, insurance, inspections).
How to run chameleon check
- Enter USDOT or MC — We resolve dockets to census records.
- Read cluster score — Published clusters (score ≥ 3) link to full evidence pages.
- Treat as heuristic — Shared phone/address patterns are due-diligence hints, not FMCSA findings.
- Open full cluster page — When published, review peer USDOTs and weights.
- Continue normal vetting — Use book-check and FMCSA even when no cluster appears.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a chameleon carrier?
- Industry slang for operators that may reincarnate under a new USDOT after a revocation — often sharing phone, address, or name patterns. TruckCodex clusters are heuristic graph matches, not FMCSA enforcement findings.
- What if my USDOT shows no cluster?
- Most carriers are not in a published cluster. Absence here is not a verified clean record — we refuse to publish false negatives on the dedicated chameleon pages for that reason. This tool explains the limit explicitly.
- Where is the full cluster graph?
- When score ≥ 3, open /chameleon-watch/usdot/<USDOT>/ for evidence weights and peer links. Lower scores stay internal; we only publish moderate-or-strong matches.
- Why is my lookup result page noindex?
- Personalized ?q= pages use noindex, follow. The empty form URL stays indexable so search engines find the tool, not every USDOT permutation.
- How fresh is FMCSA data on TruckCodex?
- We refresh from nightly FMCSA imports. Check /meta/freshness/ or freshness badges on linked desks — not real-time L&I.
- Can I get email alerts when my insurance or authority changes?
- Not yet. TruckCodex is shipping free lookup tools first; portfolio email digests and saved filters are on the roadmap (Wave D alerts). Bookmark this page or re-run your USDOT until push alerts launch.
