I am a single-truck owner-operator (Cool Arrow Trucking), Harlingen, Texas. Two failures of Goodyear Endurance LHS steer tires (295/75R22.5), four months apart: 1. [XXX] — tread separation, passenger-side steer tire. Required emergency roadside service (TA Truck Service work order No. [XXX], near Big Spring, TX; odometer 284,101 — 31,251 miles since the pair was installed). Cost: $1,407.34. TA disposed of the failed tire at the scene; its DOT number was not recorded. 2. [XXX] — steer-tire blowout while descending a mountain grade. The truck was disabled and towed to Volvo Trucks, Troutville, Virginia, where it remains. Full repair estimate: $19,020.85 (excluding tires and rims). The truck has been out of service since October 15. The October 15 tire is preserved as evidence at Volvo Trucks, Troutville, Virginia, where a Goodyear inspector examined it on October 20, 2026. The July tire was taken by the TA location that replaced it before its DOT number could be recorded; photographs of that tire's separation are preserved. Relevant manufacturer history: In April and September 2022, Goodyear ran a Customer Satisfaction Campaign (service bulletin TSB 10222104) on this same tire line — 295/75R22.5 Endurance LHS, load ranges G and H — because tires from production week 4821 experienced crown separations and some center rib detachments that resulted in adjustments and property damage claims. My tires are from production week 3125 and are not part of that campaign, but they are the same tire line failing in the same manner four years later. I am requesting NHTSA review whether this tire line has a recurring tread/crown separation defect.
