Owner Narrative
I had rented an RV from Cruise America for a 1,400 one-way trip from [XXX] to [XXX]. I told the agent this was my first time driving an RV. The agent knowingly told me to disregard the low tire pressure sensor as it was faulty, to directly disregard it. One hour into the trip I experienced a tire blowout of 1 of 6 tires. I sought assistance at a tire repair chain 1 mile from the sensor having gone from "present" to "blinking." The tire center also saw a full crack across the exterior sidewall of another tire and said it could also blowout at any time and even one blown tire could have led to a rollover. They noted the five remaining tires were all older, worn, underinflated, showed bad wear patterns, and were dried out. Their professional opinion was that all six tires be replaced for it to be roadworthy. The [XXX] office of Cruise America either didn't know the tires were worn and rented it to me anyhow or did know and rented it to me anyway (gross negligence, fraudulence, intent to conceal). This could have led to a rollover causing me bodily injury and possibly also involving another vehicle and their passengers.
