Owner Narrative

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal made an abnormal airy sound, became spongy, and travelled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle responded. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake booster had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under Ford Campaign Number: 13N02. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered due to the manufactured date. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.
