Complaint Summary
BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
Owner Narrative
The blind spot detection sensors have failed and the rest of the detection systems using the bad sensors are also non functional. An alert is shown in the info center every time the car starts. I have read that the issue is due to poor positioning of the sensors allowing for tire spray to directly hit the non water resistant sensors and their connectors. The replacement parts and labor are ridiculously expensive and the ability for an owner to complete this task is nearly impossible. A simple splash guard behind the tire or even waterproofing the sensor and itâs entirety to avoid water penetrating and causing the very expensive sensor and all detection systems connected to it to fail.
