Owner Narrative
As a 100% T&P Disabled Veteran relying on advanced driver-assistance for mobility, I purchased a 2022 Tesla Model Y Performance with Hardware 3 (HW3), which was actively advertised and sold as possessing all necessary hardware for safe, autonomous operation. In practice, the vehicle suffers from safety-critical driver-assist defectsâincluding unexpected disengagements and erratic system choicesâdue to fundamental HW3 processing and memory bandwidth limitations. Operating a vehicle marketed as autonomy-ready, but constrained by hardware incapable of handling complex traffic scenarios safely, forces constant manual intervention and creates an unacceptable collision hazard for a disabled driver.
