The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the engine overheated and the contact pulled over safely. The contact waited for the vehicle to cool down before driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the head gasket was blown. The vehicle was towed to another independent mechanic, who determined that the failure was due to the head gasket. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.
