Owner Narrative
The contact owns a 2017 Ram 3500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the ABS alarm sounded for a moment, and for the entire duration of the drive, signaling that the brakes had failed. The traction control and cruise control failed to operate as intended. The failure occurred intermittently. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
